Some people use statistics to try to figure out their chances of getting cancer. People may also use them to try to figure out their chance of being cured of cancer. It is important to keep in mind, however, that statistics show what happens with large groups of people. They do not take into account a person's own risk factors, such as family history, behaviors, or cancer screenings. Because no 2 people are alike, you can't use statistics to know or predict what will happen to you. If you have questions, talk with your healthcare provider.

About 10,800 people will die of this cancer in 2018. Of those, 6,510 will be men and 4,290 will be women.
